How age in months is calculated
The calculator computes the difference in years and months between the birth date and reference date, then converts to total months: months = (reference_year − birth_year) × 12 + (reference_month − birth_month). Only full calendar months are counted.

For babies and young children, age is often expressed in months rather than years. Pediatric growth charts, developmental milestones, and vaccination schedules use months.
