How the discount calculator works
The calculator uses the original price and the discount percentage to find how much you save and what you pay:
discount_amount = original_price × (discount_percent ÷ 100)
final_price = original_price − discount_amount
For example, an item priced at ₹1999 with a 25% discount has a discount of ₹499.75 and a final price of ₹1499.25. The tool rounds to two decimal places. It does not add tax, shipping or other fees.
When and why to use a discount calculator
Sales, coupons and promo codes usually state a percentage off—"20% off", "50% off clearance". To know how much you actually pay, you have to apply that percentage to the original price and subtract. A discount calculator does this in one step: you enter the listed price and the discount percentage, and you get the discount amount, the final price and often the savings as a percentage. No mental math or spreadsheet needed.
Use it when comparing offers (e.g. Store A: ₹1500 with 10% off vs Store B: ₹1400 with 5% off), when checking that a displayed sale price matches the advertised percentage, or when stacking a coupon on a sale price.
