Trigonometry Calculator – Sin, Cos, Tan
Compute sine, cosine, and tangent for any angle. Enter the angle in degrees or radians and select the function. Useful for geometry, physics, and engineering.
Trigonometry Calculator
Calculate sin, cos, or tan for any angle. Enter angle in degrees or radians.
Trig functions
In a right triangle with angle θ: sin(θ) = opposite/hypotenuse, cos(θ) = adjacent/hypotenuse, tan(θ) = opposite/adjacent. Values range from -1 to 1 for sin and cos; tan can be any real number.
Applications of trigonometry
Trigonometry is used in surveying, navigation, architecture, and physics. Finding the height of a building, the distance across a river, or the components of a force vector all use sin, cos, and tan. Wave motion, sound, and light involve trigonometric functions.
Angles can be entered in degrees (0–360) or radians (0–2π). The calculator accepts any real angle; values outside the standard range are normalized using the periodicity of the functions. For inverse functions (arcsin, arccos, arctan), use a dedicated inverse trig calculator or the relationship between functions.
